How to Get to Our
Essex Academy from Chelmsford


Our academy is based in Romford town centre, and for students travelling from Chelmsford, the journey is straightforward whether you're driving or taking public transport.


Many of our Chelmsford students tell us the journey becomes part of the routine and that a day at the academy is well worth the trip.

By Train

Chelmsford → Shenfield → Romford via the Elizabeth line. Change at Shenfield for a direct service to Romford. Total journey approximately 50–60 minutes. Romford station is a short walk from the academy.

By Car

Head south-west on the A12 towards London, then follow signs for Romford (A112 / A1112). The journey is approximately 40–50 minutes in normal traffic. Romford town centre has a number of car parks within easy walking distance of the academy.
